·                        Belgian  one-minute-paintings conquer the world thanks to Neil Diamond

·                          Fond - newsletter (friends of Neil Diamond) Neil Diamonds official fanletter

spends an entire page on the Belgian TV art project

Superstar Neil Diamond evaluates the art act of a Belgian action painter, who combined the creation of a one-minute-painting with the music of the superstar, with an article in his own newsletter for his fans. .

This “FOND-Newsletter”  (FOND stands for : friends of Neil Diamond) is the official international Neil Diamond fan magazine that is distributed from Hollywood, where the world star has his home base and business centre, in thousands of copies for his die-hard fans all over the world, from the US to New Zealand and Australia.

In the newest edition, that has been edited and spread this week, the American Superstar gave to Patrick Gysemberg, the action painter (a la Pollock) the possibility to tell the one-minute -paintings TV story all over again, including the publication of the five art pieces (all on canvas 1 meter to 1 meter big!!!) . This resulted in a full page story about the reasons of combining this act with the music of the master himself. So we do learn about an art project that was broadcasted on Belgian national television, where Patrick created in an action-paintings style a la Jackson Pollock (another famous US artist) five new works with mixed media on canvas, inspired by the music of Neil. "There are some irregularities in the story", Patrick told us", so it says that the viewers could vote on a red or green button un the TV screen", he said", " but this is not entirely accurate". "People could vote on the internet by clicking on these buttons and not on their TV set," he added". "of course, this is not the most important issue", the proud artist told us,"”the most important thing is that my art act gets this kind of attention from such a superstar!, ”.“I wanted to prove with this act of the arts that I could do/create something in one minutes time that made people think about life, about what they are viewing, about what they are doing with their lives, so they would contemplate a little about this over-commercialized world of ours with wrong pure commercial values" "As the music of Neil Diamond is bringing additional joy and happiness and contributes to the beauty of this world", " I consider this art that adds something to our today's world." "Furthermore did his music comfort me a lot whilst performing on TV" " So I actually used it also to calm my nerves", the painter added!  "But I think, when I see all the reactions coming in from all over the world, that my one-minute act has proven its value!"

“The only negative remark came from my own father, who stated that he would never ever put his family name under these kind of work (this means he was a little embarrassed what I did on TV!!!)"the successful painter stated.

"But, as his oldest son, I ll forgive him for this!", Patrick smiled.

Last weekend the one-minute paintings were  exposed on a local art show in Wommelgem Belgium.

As from July 2004 they were travelling international whilst participating on an international Art exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, organised by an Hamburgian Art academy , where they will be available for the whole month for the public to view.

how wonderful for Neil that he was able to make a connection to Patrick's gifted talents and see his artwork manifested through Neil's inspiring music!!

Something tells me that Neil may just have one of Patrick's paintings hanging in his own home or office, if he hasn't done so already ... maybe the original of "Not Even the Chair" ...

I am so happy for Patrick ... he definitely deserves the recognition and accolades that he receives for his artistry!!

FOND Newsletter Arrived today............n/t

breaking news :
Superstar Neil Diamond is charmed by the ONE-MINUTE Art PROJECT of a Belgian Action Painter
Patrick gysemberg - mylifeisart - www.absolutearts.com - www.wwar.com - artist gysemberg -
with art project now on Belgian National TV
the whole story :
Patrick Gysemberg brings an Art project on Belgian National TV. He created five "one - minute paintings"  during the music of US superstar Neil Diamond and brings this creation on Belgian Television over five separate days. A unique promotion of the ARTS.
A fan-site of Neil Diamond, www.neildiamondhomepage.com helped Patrick on the search of appropriate music to accompany the action painting; "his music inspires me and gives me a great feeling  and comfort, which I need  and puts me at ease trough the act of creation", the painter added. The selection turned out to be very representative for the works of mr Diamond: from the raw " cherry cherry " performance in 1972 to the sensitive "flight of the Gull" from Jonathan Livingston Seagull, these musical jewels strengthen the efforts of Patrick on TV.
One painting was made on the tunes of "I am I said", a great Neil Diamond classic where a lonely artist sings about the fact that no one listens to him, "not even the chair" and it is exactly this chair that Patrick put onto the canvas in his one-minute attempt. Coincidence?  Or subconscious behaviour? Who knows? At least it proves a relation between both art forms.
The home - office of Neil Diamond asked for an article of this Art performance for its own FOND (friends of Neil Diamond)magazine, to be published. Neil Diamond himself showed himself very interested in this one-minute art project and was particularly interested how it worked! He was utmost glad with the article made about this.
The art project can be followed on the internet on www.zonderhanden.be where the viewer can vote "yes" (green button) to see Patrick perform again the next day (not weekend) or "no", red button, to stop his performance. This is of course pretty hard, but is part of the game that makes this art project so powerful.
The broadcast started on the 15th of April and continues over the next four working days. (not on the weekend)
The program is calls "man bites dog" and is scheduled after the seven o'clock news in Belgium. The program is very popular and reaches every week the top ten of all programs. it has an average of over 1 million viewers a day, which is huge, knowing that the whole of the Flemish part of Belgium counts but 6 million inhabitants.
the five one-minute art pieces are to be found on www.absolutearts.com or www.wwar.com
the personal website of Patrick gysemberg is : www.mylifeisart.com.

the Belgian TV  program  "1000 suns and shrimps" confirmed yesterday that they accepted  the coverage of this Art act of action Painter Patrick Gysemberg.
He plans to work together with the Nature elements, as there are : rain, wind, mist, fog, sun etc to create an art piece (canvas of 1m to 1.50m) by means of Action Painting in total open air. "1000 suns and shrimps" is a national cultural life-style magazine, broadcasted  only during summertime in prime time, to announce all interesting cultural events that take place in Belgium during this period per year.  It is broadcasted after the 7 o'clock news on a daily basis, except Saturday and Sunday.  They will be filming next week, so Patrick's effort to support the Belgian cancer league (he offers the "open-air made painting" as charity to this organisation) will therefore gets full attention which could only be an extra stimulance to raise the price of the artwork which will be put up for bidding on a big  national TV show in support of the Belgian cancer ligue in 2005.
This is the second time in a few months that Mylifeisart - Patrick Gysemberg - is getting TV attention and TV coverage with his Art and especially with his "action Painting". This reminds us quite heavily at the way Jackson Pollock was discovered, way back in the forties in the US; where Pollock got definite   US and worldwide recognition  of his art form after a TV program about his   way of painting was released on the air. Pollock was the inventor of Action Painting and the most famous non-European Art painter ever in those days!
Mylifeisart- Patrick Gysemberg, who is now in his mid 40's , states that :  "as a child, when I was about four years old - I could have been younger) I received "Pollock pictures" in my mind whilst sleeping. At the time I could only recognize these as pure nightmares since I was not able to put them in place. Only recently, after I discovered about Pollock and his paintings  and after I saw many resemblances between some of my paintings with this great artist (made them without actually knowing the existing of the US art master)
that I could recognize them as true art pieces I saw in my dreams as a very young child."
The images that I saw as a child were truly amazingly colourful, but also very stressy, just as the works of Pollock are. Maybe he just sent me those images after he killed himself in this car crash and searched for someone to continue his unfinished art work. But this would be a fairly presumptuous and a token of excess self esteem to say this.", the painter humbly added. nevertheless is a TV coverage of a painter not so evident in these computer dictated times we live in nowadays.
"only therefore I am already grateful",  Patrick added.
Patrick Gysemberg / Mylifeisart  got his first national Belgian TV attention with his "one-minute action paintings" made on TV on the music of  US superstar Neil Diamond, just only two months ago.
These paintings are on an European tour . They will be on an international Art exhibition in Hamburg Germany as from the 1 st of July.

Thanks for your kind attention

*One-minute-painter lets nature do (part of the) the paintjob by his next art project

----------------------------à WHAT?

Action Painting in close cooperation with the nature elements in Antwerp

In front of the Art store of the action painter himself  = Van Tichelenlei 61 - 2160 Wommelgem -  Belgium

An open-air performance

Every day from 18.00 hrs to 19.00 hrs

The canvas will be set in open air and stay there the whole period, the full seven days, visible for all possible visitors who pass by to see this art project.

Artist Patrick Gysemberg will in a period of seven days, one hour a day from 18.00 hrs till 19.00 hrs work on his canvas of 1m to 1.50 m. This canvas is placed in open air so that it can be influenced by all nature elements as there are: wind, rain, sun, mist, and fog... He will use/perform  "action painting" in combination with traditional paint techniques and mixed media as there are:  nails, spaghetti, wooden sticks, confetti and other material. He also counts on an intense influence of Mother Nature on this art project. According to the received unpredictable weather influences, Patrick will be guiding his painting towards day 7, July the 11th, following the messages received from these elements. On day seven, a Sunday, he will determine the point where the art piece will be completed.

This art piece stands for the ultimate collaboration between the artist and his surroundings that will determine the end result. The artist is only a medium, a "team player" between/ in the midst of an unknown force (nature elements), the canvas, the oils, the mixed media and maybe some brushes. He is the ultimate proof of this unique project of which he is only part of, without the stress factor, without negativism, without pressure, without the urge to a strong performance because here he is counting on the cooperation of the Belgian weather conditions, which are of course totally free and voluntarily; without any human, restrictive qualities. By doing so he is surpassing the fact of failing humanity and underlines his artist statement: we should, really, look back some times on the way we are commercially taken by today's society. The human ability to be amazed or flabbergasted we have since birth, contributes to realize this contemplation. The emphasis of today's society lies nowadays intensely strong on wrong values. The essential human values are clearly neglected. Life is way too short anyway so one should enjoy much more intensely any minute of it.
"To look back from time to time and thinking over a deviant artistic behavior, can be a step towards enriching reflection.

On Sunday the 11th, the moment where the artwork will be announced as "finished", the artist will reveal what is the actual real essence of life, basis for every human interaction.

Ultimately Patrick Gysemberg wants to support the Belgian Cancer league financially by donating the art piece to the  official Belgian Broadcasting Television VRT - TV. In 2005 they will organize a biannual TV show in favor of the cancer league. The art piece will be put up the TV show for bidding by the Belgian public
. The international value of an art piece of this dimensions easily reaches 5.000 euros; a sum that the artist would love to see to support this cancer league. "when I can obtain a smile on the faces of some people, when they are visiting my act, I already will be a very satisfied artist", a quit Patrick stated, " my art project is therefore already a success because it contains a combination of human friendly purposes, which are the real drive behind this project.", he added.

My dearest journalist,

I do hope to get some press attention to enable to hit on the score of selling the artwork for the benefit of the Belgian Cancer league.

Thanks for your kind attention
