Belgian action painter creates love poem for cruise ship in exit
Belgian artist makes love poem in german and english for Russian cruise ship TS Maxim Gorkiy
Love poem for cruise liner
Belgian action painter
He did this as a tribute to the ship, and especially of course for all staff involved, keeping this magnificent ship on the worlds seas for all those years, as the cruise liner is sold now to INDIAN mechants who bought it for 4.2 FOUR POINT TWO MILLION euros to be dismantled and shredded and sold in tiny pieces, so her definate end will be now on some Indian shore, some Indian beach, which this old lady reached after leaving Bremerhaven, Germany, on day 25 of Februari 2009.
The ts maxim Gorkiy had been undertaking its last cruise ever (ending the 30th of November 2008 in
Because of the high fuel increases since last year, profitable cruising did not seem possible any longer on the TS Maxim gorkiy, so selling seemed to be the only option. Scrapping of this magnificant ship has meanwhile started and the bow you see here next to this text is already being removed...

My dearest maxim
My lovely designed ship,
when i would not see you again, know this :
it has been an incredible journey,
i do not need to tell you :
lets be friends,
i do not need to tell you :
please write to me again,
one day, we have travelled through costa rica by train,
and you have awaited faithfully till we arrived,
at the other end of the ocean,
yes, this you have always done so brilliantly,
proud and beautifully and especially so incredibly proud,
i have noticed that you looked secretly into the sea, to see your reflection and to see
how beatuful you still are after all these years,
if i do not see you any more,
we have grown older, both you and me,
if i do not see you any more,
whom would i ever miss?
When you are no longer around,
it is time to say goodbye,
you have known me far to well, my friend,
One day it is time,
When I do not see you again,
It is hurting me,
Very much indeed,
And so both we die a little,
More and definite,
But know this,
As a little child I ll always be grateful,
Thinking about you,
Dreaming about you,
And I ll see you sail on
Crossing all worlds oceans,
With your graceful front
Proudly facing the oceans wind!
Thank you maxim,
Thank you so much,
And you take care, You hear!
Take care!

same poem in German :
Lieber Maxim,
sehr,
und ein bisschen mehr;
weiss aber einst :
dankbar wie ein kleines Kind,
denke ich im Traum an dich
und sehe dich immer weiter fahren
ueber alle Weltmeren
mit dem schoenen Bug, stolz im Wind!
danke Maxim
dank dir vielmals,
und es geht dir gut!

New exclusive art project in world premiere
in Beveren,
near
during the annual Beveren city celebrations party from 22 of AUGUST TILL THE 31 OF AUGUST
Patrick gysemberg, Belgian action painter, chooses small scale groups exhibition in the city of
for a unique new world premiere, first performance of his new exclusive light-art combination,
a brand new art concept.
Arte e luz or “light and art” is a new art concept of action painter patrick gysemberg from Belgium,
who already with is various art inspired escapades, drew some firm attention from Belgian celebrities,
from the Belgian queen paola herself(with his blue paola painting), and even from neil diamond
who promoted patrick with a 2 page story in his fan magazine worldwide,
because of his tv creation of 5 one minute action paintings whilst the music of neil diamond was playing.
Art light is a new concept, a simple combination of art, his art, the art of patrick,
with a light component, fixed behind the traditional painting. Because patricks paintings are usually big sized,
about 1m to 1m or even larger, the light component behind the canvas is creating an indirect light atmosphere and
shines upon the wall that is holding and surrounding the painting,
creating a whole new environment for the painting itself and adding an additional value
to the artwork itself. It is a simple combination of two fine elements,
the personal art piece together with the indirect light element,
which is exclusively developed for this purpose, but is still in its delivery stage,
ready to be explored and optimized by a real light expert company.
Patrick is presenting 2 of his newest combinations to the Beveren public. “vertical light intrusion”
is a painting of 1m to 1m where the back up light device is enlightening
the whole painting and the veil itself, adding an arty element to the painting itself
because the vertical light element is penetrating from the back into the canvas,
crossing the horizontal paint stripes, to be found on the frontal part of the painting
and this actively participating in the overall art project. (see first added picture)
The second picture presents his second work, a dark painting,
not allowing any light whatsoever through the veil, creating an indirect supportive light structure around the canvas.
It is called “double sea view” and is offering a double bulls eye, seen from within a cruise liner”.
These bigger art projects are made for the “sodysopa’s”,
the social, dynamic society participants of today’s society,
who mostly own larger homes, older mansions, restored farmhouses or even penthouses,
lofts, oversized apartments, that all share one thing : huge or large walls.
These walls cry for attention and to be dressed by art, by special art pieces like arte y luz,
art and light, is being offered in this new conceptual art extravaganza,
made by action painter patrick gysemberg, in his daily attempt to reach a broader public
for his art through this kind of free art fairs, in combination with city celebrations
where people are being offered free entrance of cultural exploits…
Just feel free and join the city of beveren in
Patrick has already enlightened the scene so you would find
your path towards a new world of art the easy way! Welcome!

"the blue paola"
Indepth Arts News:
"Gysemberg Pleases Belgian Queen with a Portrait"
2007-03-08 until 2007-12-31
Belgian Monarchy
Brussels, , BE Belgium
One of those paintings is the blue painting of the Queen of Belgium today, her Royal Highness Queen Paola. The portrait reflects a younger woman, when she had been still a princess. The paint of this extraordinary portrait itself has a superior role in the whole action painting, and the dripping, the splashes, the spots and the seemingly random way the paint had hit the canvas are part of the end result which still is a recognizable portrait.
Because of these portraits, Gysemberg got the idea to incorporate them into his personal promotional activities, since he does not receive any supportive funds from the government. He thus sent some of the better portraits to local Belgian celebrities. They all responded very surprised and were unanimously very happy with this unique commercial gesture.
In November of last year, Gysemberg had already sent a smaller regular portrait 40cmx50xm of his Majesty the King Albert II to the Queen so she could surprise her husband with the portrait on the occasion of year's end. Gysemberg received a “thank you letter” from the Queen. “The Blue Paola”, is a much bigger canvas, it measures 60x80cm and it has a special meaning for the painter since it is the first action painting portrait he had ever created. Because of its rare character, Gysemberg had first sent a letter to the Queen to ask her if she liked it. But, as he knew, according the Royal Belgian protocol, questions may not be asked to the members of the royal family, and thus Gysemberg did not receive an answer, which he had not expected anyway. So after sometime, he decided take a chance and to hope that she would like the painting, which is according to the used proceeds and general colours (blue) quite extraordinary. And so he sent “The Blue Paola” off to the Royal Palace. Only a week later he received again a “thank you letter” from the Queen, in which she had expressed her explicit gratitude for receiving her portrait in blue on a canvas. So she liked it after all...thank god (just a matter of speaking, since the painter is an atheist).
Patrick Gysemberg has works in several European and US collections. View more of Patrick's work in his Portfolio at absolutearts.com http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/m/mylifeisart/.
Patrick Gysemberg pleases the Belgian Queen with a portrait in blue. The blue action painting portrait, the first one ever created, as it is a combination of action painting and realism (portrait), is now in possession of her Royal Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium. The artist Patrick Gysemberg had made the painting as one of a series of local celebrities he used on an art action together with the stores of a Belgian city, to promote commercial activities in September 2006. As this event has concluded and several painting were sold, the action painter remained with a collection of about 60 paintings of local and international celebrities. Patrick Gysemberg has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since 2003.

Hello,
Very happy to see your work on the gallery site.
I am thrilled that the standard is so high from such a variety of artists and hope it will be interesting to gallery owners, exhibition curators and collectors to see such diverse work.
All my best,
3 OF MY PAINTINGS OF 1M - 1M TO 5CM missing and PROBABLY STOLEN IN BERLIN - GERMANY;
IF ANY OF YOU WOULD SEE OR SPOT OR RECOGNIZE ONE OF THE 3 PAINTINGS SHOWN HEREUNDER - PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY since they are missing since the summer of 2007 and are probably stolen.
ALL BEGAN WITH THE CLOSURE OF THE GALLERY 24 IN BERLIN AND THE exodus of the former owner mr REESE PABLO - AKA VON LICHTENSTEIN, who owned gallery 24 and had 6 paintings of mine in his possession for his show; He was able to sell 3 of them but had 3 in his possession the moment he decided to close gallery 24 down, without informing me about the whereabouts of the 3 pâintings. THEY HAVE BEEN MISSING SINCE THEN...mr pablo reese went to new york where he owns another gallery. HE CLAIMS MY 3 PAINTINGS ARE NOT IN THE USA BUT SOMEWHERE IN GERMANY; after 1 contact, mr pablo reese is not responding any longer to any of my mails SO I HAVE THE STRONG IMPRESSION THAT SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG HERE;
after a phone trial to get in touch with mr reese in new york, and without any sufficient answers about the whereabouts about my paintings, i will inform the police, the international department of stolen art to investigate this dissapearance of my paintings; ans press official charges against unknown thiefs.
IF ANY OF YOU WOULD ENCOUNTER ONE OF MY PAINTINGS PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL ON +32-495-792336 OR WRITE ME A MAIL : patrick.gysemberg@skynet.be

Interview with patrick gysemberg :
Q : did you expect to win this price?
Pg : no, I did not. I was quite astonished but happy indeed. It allows me to show my work and I guess any artist is happy when he gets an opportunity to show his work, especially when it is in a fancy city as
Q : what is this “mixture of action painting and realism” about?
Pg : It is all about my constant “struggle” with paint and mixed media. I cannot paint like a normal painter, I always fight with my paint. Even when I make portraits or realistic work, like these “nautical series”. It is a constant “battle”, till I am satisfied with the results.
Q : Why these nautical series?
Pg : because they presented themselves as a great theme when I was on board of the TS Maxim Gorkiy last summer, a fine cruise liner, now run by Phoenix Reisen in Bonn, Germany, where I worked upon, some other life ago! The nature of our northern planet is sooo beautiful and vast and colourful that it offered me more scenes than I can actually can handle at the moment. I am still working on the series.
Q : So you ‘re not finished with these series?
Pg : no, I am not. In
Q : where is the element of action painting in these nautical series?
Pg : you find them all over the canvas. If you look close, you “ll see the throwing of the paint, forming the shapes I aim for, accidentally or not….but they build together the picture I had in mind. To me a perfect combination because I have no patience to paint minuscule details, if they are not formed by the paint itself.
I think some parts are a quite “wonder” how they managed to form the picture I actually intended to create.
Q : so you leave a part of the creation process to the paint itself?
Pg : exactly, you’ve got it.
Q : amazing!
Pg : I cannot stop wondering myself, how it works, but it does. The fact that I even win prices with my paintings, prove my method isn’t that bad either!
Q : any upcoming projects after
Pg : oh, many actually! It all depends on the sponsoring I get.
I ‘ll keep on working on my nautical series till my inspiration fades away. Then I am working on a series of action painting portraits of people who have a positive contribution to today's world and thus will be part of a gallery of “exquisite people”. They will be presented in all the shops of “Herentals”, a city in
Then, I will translate the new cd of Neil Diamond “12 songs” onto the canvas (each 1m to 1m), a canvas per song, made in the same time as the song takes to sing. I am waiting for the blessing and support of Neil Diamond himself, but I guess that it can take a long time before I hear something from that corner. And I need sponsors to support this act.
Q: any special request to end up?
Pg : Oooh yes indeed! But not for me. For “kom op tegen kanker”. In 2004 I made especially for “kom op tegen kanker”, “cancer aid” that is, an action painting of 1m to
It represents the feeling one has when first the message of cancer has been produced. But vertically and horizontally you find cords running over the canvas as a token of hope, a string to hold on to. Which helps the healing process. It is especially a fine piece for companies.
I will not sell it for less than 2500 euros. Every higher bid is sold! So if you would spread this news, I would be most grateful! All of the money goes to this aid programm.
Q: consider it done!
Pg : thank you very much!
Q : any thing else?
Pg : one last thing : Belgian gallery holders may contact me any time for upcoming exhibitions at patrick.gysemberg@skynet.be
Q: thank you for this interview!
Pg : thank you!
Thank you all for your continuing support of the arts in general!
May 2006 bring you all whatever you may wish for and may you find true happiness in life and love.
May we all make in 2006 our world a little happier and nicer to live in!

| If, at the end of your life, someone would ask you if you had done something to contribute to the world peace, would you be able to say : “yes, I did?” I, at least, will be able to say so, that I used all my means possible to do so, I would be able to say that I have tried, even if I did not succeed… I have a feeling inside that tells me that I have to do this, even if this brings me being laughed at and sneer...patrick 08/08/2005 *Nautical and Arctic action painting impressions-a new painting series After a journey of seven times towards the arctic sea world around Island, Svalbard and Norway, it came clear to me that i have to share these rare and exquisite moments in time and place with the world, since i have realized that only a few fortunate people are privileged to see this once in their lives. I have seen it seven times...Moreover, seven is a magical number bringing luck and happiness. So I am working now on a painting series of this magnificent piece of the earth to share with you all. I hope you will enjoy what you will find here shortly on these pages. patrick Gysemberg 01/08/05 action painter for a better world meanwhile I have created a few paintings. The strange thing is that at first there was no sign of "action painting" to it, it was mere figurative, natural painting. Still, I felt again that something was lacking. By adding a touch of action painting to it, they, my paintings, became at once vivid and reacted as if brought alive. I did not create a new style...just accidently I combined two ways of creation and found out that this is indeed working in the end result. I only do hope now that my audience, my viewers think so too! Otherwise I certainly do have a problem. The value of life is measured by its beauty. Hey! It is absolutely GREAT it see YOU visiting my website! Several years ago I had my first "artist name cards" printed by a professional printer. I choose to put a "statement" on the card : Life is Art. With this statement I wanted to indicate that life itself is already in all his aspects a form of Art. I just wanted to wake up those people who were/still are soooo busy with every day life that they forget about life itself! They forget to look around, to look at the ones they love...they just forget...till life has passed and no beauty has been seen or found. "Life is Art" means that we CAN make life into Art, if we want to. We can, of course make life into living hell...this everyone knows...the opposite however, one tends to forget or not see at all....thus : " Life is Art " is a guideline, a gentle warning, a soft touching of your cheek, a tender kiss on your forehead, a smile on your lips, a little jump in the sky, a teasing joke on the side; it is for all the truth. Because the web did not have this name free anymore I was "forced" to choose: "MY life is art", as it was the closest to my statement and my idea's. This does not mean that my life IS really Art! No, it is not. But I try to live up to my believes and the harder I do this, as I have noticed, the more things are turning to be all right. Still my life is a quest for the ultimate answer that none of us has found up till now or, if so, no one ever did tell me about it.. Enjoy your stay here. Enjoy your life! You should, you know, cause it 'll always appear too short. My ability to love life and all human beings who are actually at this moment enriching my existance on this planet, is mostly so intensely activated that it is hurting me like a razorblade cutting my intestines. Since I started to work with oils, no more than 10 years ago, I have come a long way. Because I knew I could draw from my early years in childhood, I started to make figurative paintings, but they seem to lack "something". For sure I was not very satisfied with the outcome, with the results. As my brother asked me to make an abstract painting a few years ago, I started to experiment with all media involved. And here something wonderful happened : I found out that , every time I started on one of my abstract "oils", I never knew where I nor the painting itself would end. I thus, just let "things" happen. I create, without knowing the outcome. I draw, paint, put together, assemble, use oils and other material, to achieve the endresult. I juse become part of a creative process. I see/feel a very strong "force" taking over during the act of creation. It guides me through my paintings and leads me to the end result. It is very hard for me to detect when this should be: when I should stop this interactive process between me, my brush, the canvas and the paint. There lies my responsibility as a painter, a creator. I determine the composition because I determine when to stop this creative process. The final composition always is - or should be at least - a token of beauty of something in life that is surrounding us. The outcome has to match my vision of beauty and should at least be a reflection of it. My paintings are vivid, full of life and colour, because this is what or who I am. They are a reflection of my inner self, erupted out of my sub conscience, as a proof of respect for the life we lead, we hold and we treasure. |
Since I am mastering this site by my own and the cost of a professional
web photographer is situated beyond my means, this will lead to quality loss
on the pictures of the paintings, for which I humbly ask you to forgive me.
I nevertheless can assure you that all paintings
do look even more beautiful than they ever might be on this website.
This website has only been created to share my moments of beauty
with the world so that you could participate,
which does not exclude buying one of the Art pieces.
So, if interested, do not hesitate to contact me,
you can even choose one of the various ways,
offered by this webside.
